Azule Management System Advisor

Job Summary:

The Integrated Risk and Assurance function is accountable for developing, maintaining and improving Integrated Risk Management framework, the Azule Management System and the Assurance program. In addition, the team is responsible for setting the requirements for self-verification and contractor oversight across the company. The function ensures alignment with regulations, international standards and corporate governance, supporting risk‑based decision‑making across the company, supporting the delivery of safe, compliant and efficient oil and gas operations.

 

This role is responsible for the design, governance, and continuous improvement of the Azule Management System (AMS) elements of the function’s accountability, overseeing effective and efficient delivery of the AMS framework. Acts as the enterprise authority on AMS, ensuring strong compliance, capability development, and the scaling of high-impact improvements across the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

AMS framework ownership

  • Own AMS design, structure, and governance framework
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements

Deployment and embedment

  • Lead implementation and embedment of AMS across all functions
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application

Continuous improvement framework

  • Define and manage the company-wide CI methodology (e.g., Plan-Do-Check-Act)
  • Enable improvement programs delivered by functional teams
  • CI framework defined by AMS and executed through risk and assurance activities

Performance and governance

  • Own AMS KPIs and performance reporting
  • Lead management reviews and system effectiveness evaluations

Capability and training

  • Define AMS training strategy and materials
  • Build organisational capability in system application

Authority and advisory

  • Provide expert guidance to leadership and functions

Main Interfaces:

  • Internal: Department Directors, Function Managers and Internal Audit Teams
  • External: Safety, Environment, Ethics and Assurance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee and Company Secretary

Requirements

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership

Essential Education:

Education to graduate level in Engineering, Business Management, Auditing, or other relevant subject.

10-15 years work experience in HSE, assurance, compliance, or audit roles within oil & gas or other high-hazard industries

Governance

Azule Energy is an incorporated joint venture (IJV) between BP p.l.c. and Eni SpA. bp and Eni each holding a 50% share. Azule Energy operates in Angola under different Petroleum agreements which set out its contractual relationship with the Angolan Government (represented by the National Concessionaire). The referred agreements provide the framework for carrying out the Petroleum operations.
