Job Summary

Decide on specifications and needs regarding facility readiness for patient treatment. Supervise medical evacuation from the vendor´s clinic. Recommend preventive actions regarding injury and illnesses.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise medical evacuation from the vendor´s clinic.
  • Recommend preventive actions regarding injury and illnesses.
  • Approve discharge of prescription drugs as directed by the treating Doctor
  • Access the case and discuss with the Health Manager or alternate.
  • Refer the case to an appropriate clinic (Vendor´s, if simple case or to a more differentiated clinic in the network)
  • Discuss all cases with the treating doctor and manage any issues
  • Manage access to company-provided healthcare services, such as referrals to specialists or approval for certain treatments. Refer patients to specialists when needed, manage care transitions between different healthcare settings (e.g., Clinic to Clinic or to home), and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a central point of contact for employee health concerns, coordinating care and ensuring appropriate follow-up. 
  • Authorize referrals to specialists. This involves evaluating the patient's condition, determining if specialist consultation is necessary, and selecting the appropriate specialist based on the patient's needs and the available resources
  • Follow up the treating Doctor ordered tests (like lab work and X-rays), and follow up on development of treatment plans, which may include prescribing medications, therapies, or minor surgical procedures. 
  • Advise patients on healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and offer guidance on diet, hygiene, and exercise. 
  • Explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative measures to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their healthcare needs
  • Manage and follow up on short-term and long-term sickness absence cases. Communicate results and reports in a timely manner 
  • Maintain detailed patient records, documenting medical history, test results, and treatment plans. 
  • Promote applicable employee assistance and welfare programs for health promotion.

 

Requirements

  • Advanced level of English language
  • Good to have current advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certified (paramedic/PA).
  • Good to have Trauma management (ATLS, PHTLS or ITLS)
  • Accurately assess patients and determine the appropriate course of action.

 

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Doctor, Accredited Medical Doctor holding a license to practice in country;
  • 10 years of experience of medical and clinical practice experience in recognized institutions in or out of the country.

Governance

Azule Energy is an incorporated joint venture (IJV) between BP p.l.c. and Eni SpA. bp and Eni each holding a 50% share. Azule Energy operates in Angola under different Petroleum agreements which set out its contractual relationship with the Angolan Government (represented by the National Concessionaire). The referred agreements provide the framework for carrying out the Petroleum operations.
