Yard Foreman

Job Summary:

Coordinate all cargo movements to and from the base by land and sea, supervising material handling activities between the yard, warehouse, and quayside to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient cargo operations in support of Azule‑operated blocks. Act as the Area Authority for yard operations, ensuring all activities are conducted in full conformance with Control of Work (CoW) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce safety practices, including toolbox talks, PPE use, and proper inductions.Review and authorize Permits to Work (PtW) and supervise operations to ensure safe execution.Ensure all personnel are trained, certified, and compliant with procedures (CoW and HSE standards).
  • Support risk management, reporting, and implementation of safety systems and tools.
  • Supervise daily yard activities to ensure they are performed safely, efficiently, and according to standards.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and maintain organized, clean, and accessible yard conditions.
  • Ensure cargo handling, loading, and movements are properly executed and secured.
  • Verify that all equipment (cranes, forklifts, trucks, lifting gear, etc.) is certified, inspected, and in good condition before use.
  • Coordinate with service providers to ensure availability of resources and manage equipment utilization.
  • Manage and track movement of materials and cargo to/from the base.
  • Coordinate closely with material management teams, vendors, and service providers for efficient operations.Maintain alignment with base personnel and scheduling (including contractor coordination).Maintain accurate records of cargo, materials, and transfers for tracking and invoicing.
  • Produce material transfer notes and ensure proper documentation of all activities.Prepare and submit timely reports and promote transparent reporting practices.
  • Lead daily coordination meetings and ensure stakeholder participation.Foster a safety-focused and transparent culture within the base.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and training assurance for personnel and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of port rules and regulation associated with movement of Cargo to and from offshore.
  • Experience with lifting operation, mobilisation of resources required for safe load and offload of Platform Supply Vessels.Interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels in the field and office including Customs and Port Authorities.
  • Proven track record in delivering results under pressure.

Education and experience:

  • Secondary school, Material Management certification or equivalent preferred.
  • >5 years of experience in Supply Base or similar within the industry.
  • Experience in Yard Management preferably within the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Extensive operations and Supply Base services experienceExperience of execution and management of day-to-day tactics and required coordination/ CoW Ops meetings.
